St. Nicholas has the great privilege of having the Saint John Paul II Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. It is located in the old school building southeast of the main church. The entrance to the chapel is from the street level in the front doors and to the right.
Eucharistic Adoration is the adoration of Jesus Christ present in the Holy Eucharist. In many Churches that have this adoration, the Eucharist is displayed in a special holder called a monstrance, and people come to pray and worship Jesus continually throughout the day and night. Christ's great love for us was shown when he was crucified on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and give us eternal life. He loves us without limit, and offers Himself to us in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. Can we not give Jesus a few minutes of love and adoration in return?
Everyone that spends time in adoration of Jesus in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist develops a personal relationship with Jesus and grows in love and holiness. Quiet time with the Lord in Adoration enables people to listen and recognize His voice as He speaks to their hearts. Many of the faithful who attend adoration report various miracles and healings. Parish communities experience increased Mass attendance, service of others, unity, conversions, the return of fallen away Catholics, as well as vocations to the priesthood and religious life. The laity work together to coordinate Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration, helping build a faith-filled community.
At least one person is scheduled each hour the chapel is open to ensure that the Blessed Sacrament is not left alone. We are always looking for people who are willing to commit to one hour a week for Adoration. We are also looking for people who can commit to one hour once or twice a month as well as substitutes who can fill in for those unable to make their scheduled hour. Would you be willing to spend some quality time with Our Lord?
Even if you are not able to help out with a scheduled hour, you are invited to stop by the chapel any time, even if for only a few minutes. JESUS IS WAITING FOR YOU!
We are in need of Adorers for several hours on different days. If you would like to sign up for an hour of Adoration or have any questions on Adoration, please contact the parish office.
More adorers are needed to spend time with Jesus.
