When a family expresses an interest in having a funeral luncheon after a Funeral Mass or Memorial Mass, we have the honor and privilege of offering them our assistance. This committee is in charge of coordinating, preparing, and serving funeral lunches.
The family of the deceased contacts a funeral coordinator about ordering food. The funeral homes typically provide a list of suggested items for the menu. Parish families are then contacted and asked to assist with either serving or clean up, and to provide either a salad or dessert for the luncheon. Any food items are to be brought to the church basement.
Anyone available in the morning or afternoon on the day of a funeral is encouraged to offer their time. Even if you can not be in attendance, your gift of food is greatly appreciated.
